Holly & Wally: Teamwork

imagebam.com

Holly has Wally’s back in this ink and colored pencil drawing on archival bristol board.  Another drawing that very nearly sold in Baltimore.  Unfortunately, she spoke little English and I speak no Japanese.  We ended up nodding at each other in silent embarrassment.

Sir Wally and the (rather small) Dragon

Princess Holly is overplaying her role as damsel in distress perhaps a bit too much..  This ink and colored pencil drawing received many nice compliments at the Baltimore con from very famous artists whose various noses I shoved it under.

Princess Holly and the (even smaller) Dragon

The “Sir Wally” drawing received a few lingering glances from passerby at the Baltimore con but none more lingering than that from a woman who claimed to be looking for something similar for her daughter’s bedroom.  “But I need something with the princess facing off against the dragon.” she said.. I said I’d draw exactly that.. and I did.. Unfortunately, the woman never returned.  Ah, well.. Her loss is your gain.. Ink and colored pencil on bristol board.

“Morning Person”

Also up for auction this week is this pen, ink, and colored pencil drawing entitled “Morning Person” featuring Holly & Wally.  Holly is highly susceptible to caffeine, as you can see.  If this image of Wally could speak, I suspect he’d sound strikingly like DeForest Kelley.  And don’t forget: all proceeds help to keep Endtown alive..

starting bid: $30

“Marxopelli”

Spent what little time I wasn’t enjoying the scenery in Maryland this past week drawing pictures for the Baltimore con.. and as none of my images featured Wolverine, Storm, or Rorschach, none sold.. so for the next several weeks, I’ll be auctioning off nothing but brand-new color drawings!  First up for this week is this pen, ink, and colored pencil drawing I call “Marxopelli”, in tribute to the ancient Hopi trickster god-turned-Southwestern kitsch icon Kokopelli..

starting bid: $30

WW III – Endtown 2/24/10 – 2/25/10

Aaron is getting ready for his trip to Baltimore for the big comic con this coming weekend, and he’s swamped trying to get far enough ahead on the strip in preparation. So I’m the one writing up the descriptions this time. This week’s auction item is THE BIGGIE! Sparkplug Sanders watches as WW III approaches. A surge in the mutant outbreaks precipitates the all-out launching of every weapon on the planet. Action and suspense in 2 great back-to-back panels! As always, all proceeds help keep Endtown alive and kicking.. Thank you!

TSOJ here again, filling in for Aaron as he prepares for his trip to the Baltimore Comic Con. He’s working hard to bring you great art and stories, and he really needs the money, so please bid big on this week’s item – Professor Nikolai Xavier Mallard, Ph.D! Looking dapper in his brown overcoat and green ascot, he’s every inch the resident Endtown mad scientist. India ink and colored pencil on archival bristol board..
